Financial Control Specialist

Job Purpose:
Support the organization's financial objectives by providing financial analyses, budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, management reporting, and financial business cases. Focus on adding value to improve decision-making and streamline processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop financial models and conduct analysis using various quantitative tools and techniques.
- Analyze and report actual revenues and costs, preparing root-cause variance analyses and reporting to management on a periodic basis (monthly, quarterly, and annually).
- Identify and develop process improvements in collaboration with finance stakeholders and/or the business.
- Conduct ad hoc revenue and cost analysis for senior management in Finance.
- Develop and report Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in conjunction with the business.
- Ensure financial accounting reporting aligns with corporate/finance definitions and reports.
- Optimize the reporting process for route profitability, financial accounting, and management reporting.
- Review annual budget submissions in line with key management strategies/targets.
- Control spend to ensure cost of sale targets are achieved and recommend measures.
- Review business case proposals for incremental revenues or cost reduction, including CMC submissions.
- Review contracts/agreements for financial compliance.
- Consolidate and analyze financial results of departments on a monthly basis and yearly during the budgeting process.
Qualification:
A Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work effectively and interact with employees at all levels across the organization.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills, with the ability to review variances, analyze, and interpret data, understand business cycles, and their impact on the profit and loss account.
- Excellent command of the English language.
- Excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, MS Access, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational ability to set priorities, handle multiple responsibilities/work interruptions, and meet deadlines.
- A self-starter with the ability to work independently with minimal instruction.
- Good interpersonal skills.
- The ability to maintain strict confidentiality of records and information.
- Ability to add value to internal customers.
- Innovative thinking ability with a high degree of motivation and problem-solving skills required.
Preferred:
- Good knowledge of internal finance systems.
- Knowledge of cost centre accounting, preparing budgets, and forecasts.
