We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Safety Engineer to join our Loss Prevention organization at MatchaTalent. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing daily support to our facilities and departments, helping them effectively implement our Safety Management System and associated programs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the implementation of our Safety Management System, developing associated safety processes and participating in self-assessments.
  • Conduct field inspections and reviews to evaluate compliance with company and international codes and standards, identifying safety concerns and formulating practical and cost-effective corrective actions.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend actions to mitigate critical safety risks, including operational safety practices such as work at height, isolation/LOTO, permit to work, hydrogen sulfide, confined space entry, and excavations.
  • Participate in safety studies and activities utilizing risk assessment and mitigation methodologies, including PHAs, HAZOPs, JSAs, incident investigations, compliance reviews, and insurance surveys.
  • Respond to emergency situations and incidents, providing technical assistance and advice during or after regular working hours.
  • Support the reporting, classification, and investigation of all incidents, participating in incident investigations to determine root causes and making proper recommendations to prevent recurrence.
  • Deliver Loss Prevention-specific training to employees, contractors, and outside parties.
  • Mentor other Loss Prevention personnel.

Requirements

  • Hold a BA/BS degree from an accredited institution along with 7 years of experience in areas such as operations and maintenance, plant engineering, construction, turnaround, and inspection, safety program development, process safety, and audits/assessments within the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries.
  • Alternatively, possess 15 years of relevant industry experience in the oil and gas, petrochemicals, or related industries with a strong track record of delivering results in the aforementioned areas without a degree.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, capable of effectively communicating with peers and management.
  • Ability to produce clear and concise oral and written reports in English.
