Marine Scientist

GHD is a leading professional services company operating in the global markets of water, energy, and resources, environment, property, and buildings, and transportation. We are seeking a skilled Marine Scientist to join our Environment Team in Qatar and contribute to our mission of protecting marine environments.

• Conduct field surveys and research to assess marine biodiversity, habitat quality, and ecosystem health.
• Participate in SCUBA dive surveys where required
• Collect and analyze water quality samples, plankton samples, and other environmental data.
• Utilize GIS and other analytical tools to map marine habitats and assess spatial patterns.
• Prepare technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance documents.
• Communicate findings to clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders through presentations and written reports.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marine Biology, Oceanography, Environmental Science, or a related field.
• Demonstrated experience of 5-8 years in conducting marine fieldwork, including SCUBA diving and boat-based surveys.
• Comfortable working in offshore environments.
• Proficiency in data analysis software and GIS applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
• Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes related to marine projects is preferred.
