  5. May manage and supervise teams AND/OR act as a technical specialist.
  6. Perform complex assignments often requiring development of new or improved products, processes or techniques.
  7. Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering designs, products, and equipment.
  8. Use advanced technical knowledge to perform engineering assignments and produce engineering deliverables, including complex problems and to complete any project tasks with minimal guidance and direction.
  9. May serve as the Lead Engineer or the project Technical Authority on projects and hold advanced level specialization in one or more areas of expertise.
  10. Function as a technical specialist who develops applications, hypotheses, approaches and applies advanced engineering concepts to unique engineering problems.
  11. In addition to specialization, generally direct highly qualified professionals engaged in complex engineering projects.
  12. Provide technical reviews for complex projects within the area of expertise.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and direction to project teams, ensuring the delivery of high-quality engineering solutions.
  • Project Delivery: Execute assigned scopes of work, managing and supervising teams as required.
  • Business Growth: Contribute to business growth through the development of new or improved products, processes, and techniques.
  • Technical Expertise: Provide technical expertise to the business, assessing feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering designs, products, and equipment.
  • Specialization: Hold advanced level specialization in one or more areas of expertise, serving as the Lead Engineer or project Technical Authority on projects.
Requirements:
  • Education: ISCED Level 6 Bachelor's (minimum) or Level 7 Master's (preferred)
  • Professional Qualifications: Chartership or relevant professional engineer status accredited by a national or industry engineering institution preferred
  • Experience: Requires mature professional knowledge and extensive progressive experience in general engineering, typically 6 to 10 years progressively more responsible pertinent experience.
Role-Specific Skills and Knowledge:
  • Leadership and Management: Ability to provide guidance and direction to project teams, managing, motivating, and mentoring professional engineering specialists.
  • Technical Skills: Proficient user of relevant software and calculation templates, with a professional level of ability in the application of standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Industry Knowledge: Professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards, with a working knowledge of the various Business Units, Functions, Sectors, and services offered within the business area.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to apply advanced laws, principles, mathematics, or industry knowledge in the improvement and development of designs, with skills in persuasion, negotiation, motivation, and communication.
