About the Role

This is a senior technical position within the Unconventional Resources Department, responsible for managing some of the world's largest unconventional fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and participate in integrated reservoir simulation studies, including data analysis, model construction, history matching, calibration, and prediction.
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to management on best practices for reservoir simulation and modeling, particularly for unconventional resources simulation challenges.
  • Collaborate closely with Petroleum and Operations Engineers to generate, monitor, and ensure execution of short-term and long-term data gathering plans for their field.
  • Utilize petroleum engineering software for various analyses, including well test analysis, material balance, production logging, and nodal analysis.
  • Apply specialized simulation modeling techniques, such as fracture modeling, compositional modeling, PVT modeling, coupling surface and subsurface modeling, and complex well and smart completions.
  • Study and propose alternatives to optimize field development and maximize hydrocarbon recovery from new and mature fields.
  • Provide expert mentoring, training, and teach in-house technical courses to develop young engineers.
  • Represent the company in external technical contacts with consultants and vendors and participate in technical societies and groups.
Requirements
  • Candidates must be willing to relocate permanently to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Hold a Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, geophysics, or physics. An MSc or PhD is desirable.
  • Possess a minimum of 15 years of intensive experience in reservoir simulation, encompassing both conventional and unconventional fields.
  • Demonstrate experience in unconventional reservoir simulation.
  • Exhibit the ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams and communicate ideas clearly with specialists in reservoir characterization, geologic modeling, petrophysical evaluation, core analysis, reservoir management, and production engineering.
  • Have extensive working knowledge of standard vendor applications for pre- and post-processing of simulation data.
