Job Overview

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Maintenance Support Specialist. This role will be responsible for providing technical support to our maintenance, operations, and supply departments to improve reliability, costs, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Review and recommend spare parts levels for non-moving, obsolete, and surplus spares, and update files on a continuous basis.
  2. Review and recommend spare parts for all new projects, ensuring optimal inventory levels.
  3. Conduct technical bid evaluations of offers provided by the buyer/supply department for mechanical equipment spares.
  4. Review interface agreements between new projects and existing operations related to mechanical discipline from a maintenance perspective.
  5. Carry out engineering feasibility studies and develop mitigation solutions for obsolescence management to upgrade obsolete mechanical equipment and components.
  6. Review mechanical master data governance studies through SAP, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in a similar responsibility in the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering domain, including pumps, compressors, gas turbines, blowers, heat exchangers, valves, loading arms, and ship loaders.
  • Proficiency in SAP and commonly used Microsoft business software packages.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
