Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Airfield Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Qatar Airways. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our airfield facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the preparation of tender documents, including scope of works, drawings, and Bill of Quantities, to facilitate the tendering process.
  • Plan and implement preventive maintenance schedules for the corresponding year.
  • Review and approve LOA/Work Permits to ensure site works are regulated and carried out with minimum disruptions to operations, ensuring safety standards are met.
  • Prepare SOPs, method statements, and risk assessments for works as per required standards to ensure safety.
  • Perform periodic inspections of airfield maintenance and ensure quality standards are met, generating daily/weekly management reports.
  • Participate in taking over of new airfield facilities by preparing snagging lists to ensure smooth maintenance integration.
  • Ensure existing maintenance practices followed are as per QCAR 006/ICAO SARPs standards by updating required reports as and when needed.
  • Perform inventory control of materials and machinery used for airfield maintenance, managing inventory records and conducting audits on a periodic basis.
  • Maintain required runway friction value as per QCAR 006/ICAO standards by performing rubber removal on a periodic basis without disrupting operations.
  • Perform airfield marking reflectivity tests and runway friction tests on a periodic basis as per QCAR 006/ICAO standards to meet operational requirements.
  • Complete reports and maintain records of all airfield works for internal/external audits.
  • Report and maintain records of incidents/accidents and hazards through the safety management system.
Requirements

Without a degree, a Grade 6: High School Qualification/Vocational Qualification/Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with a minimum of 4 years of job-related experience is required.
