Job Title: Associate Geotechnical Engineer

Location: Doha, Qatar

Parsons is seeking a highly skilled Associate Geotechnical Engineer to contribute to our team. In this role, you will be responsible for planning and supervising site investigations and designing geotechnical elements of various structures, including bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, and public infrastructure-related structures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform geotechnical engineering tasks, including site investigations, supervision of rock core logging, rock characterization, and review of geotechnical factual data.
  • Review Geotechnical Factual Reports and prepare Geotechnical Interpretative Reports.
  • Analyze and calculate bearing capacity, soil and rock slope stability, excavations, support systems, retaining walls, tunnels, and ground improvement works.
  • Assist in developing design drawings, calculation reports, and technical specifications.
  • Support other engineering activities as required by the Senior/Principal engineer.
  • Supervise CAD team as per project task assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geological, or Geotechnical Engineering with no related work experience or 12 years of experience.
  • Ability to apply basic engineering principles, techniques, and analysis within the geotechnical discipline.
  • Knowledge of various aspects of rock mechanics.
  • Familiarity with core engineering software packages, including GeoStudio, Settle 3, Unwedge, Plaxis, and AutoCAD.
  • Self-motivated and able to work under close supervision with superiors on committed tasks.
  • Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections and to hold articulate verbal communications.
  • Candidate will be requested to proceed with the MME registration once joining the company.
  • Candidate must have MME/ MMUP/ UPDA or incumbent must be able to obtain the MME registration upon joining the company.

Desired Skills:

  • Masters Degree in Geotechnical Engineering is highly preferred.
  • Familiarity with Revit software.
  • Native-level English speaking and writing skills.
