Senior Azure Data Engineer and SQL Developer - Qatar

In this role, you'll be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining data pipelines and ETL processes in the Azure cloud environment.

You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure efficient data integration, transformation, and storage, leveraging Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure cloud services.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement and maintain scalable and reliable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other Azure cloud services.
  • Utilize Databricks notebooks, SQL, and Python for data transformation and processing tasks, ensuring optimal performance and data quality.
  • Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data engineering solutions.
  • Adhere to data engineering best practices to design and implement ETL processes and data integration patterns.
  • Evaluate and enforce data governance principles and data security practices throughout the data engineering lifecycle.
  • Analyze and improve data quality by applying assessment, cleansing, and validation techniques.
  • Solve complex data engineering challenges, identify performance bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Data Engineer, with a focus on Azure and Databricks.
  • Strong proficiency in Azure cloud services, including Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and Azure Storage solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of data engineering concepts, ETL processes, and data integration patterns.
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks notebooks, SQL, and Python for data transformation and processing.
  • Familiarity with data governance principles and data security practices in the context of cloud environments.
  • Proficiency in working with structured and unstructured data formats, such as CSV, JSON, and Parquet.
