Cost Controller Job Description

The Cost Controller will be responsible for establishing and implementing a cost control system for West Bay Beach (WBB), overseeing the receiving and store section. Key responsibilities include handling financial aspects related to cost management, wastages, and pilferage. The successful candidate will provide financial reports to the General Manager to support budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory and produce a monthly outlet inventory report for adjustments.
  • Consolidate monthly inventory/costing reports and send to all outlets for verification and justification, ensuring discrepancies are cleared and fixed timely.
  • Supervise store activity, including ordering, receiving, and delivering stock to and from outlets, ensuring workflow follows standard procedures.
  • Conduct inventory spot checks in all stores and facilities, comparing against par stock levels, and communicate discrepancies to the General Manager for necessary actions.
  • Update the POS system for revisions in business, such as adding new items or deleting old items, with the approval of the General Manager, and coordinate with IT for any issues.
  • Review cost and selling prices of all items, conducting comparison reports and presenting them to management for approval on a regular basis.
  • Prepare and analyze conversion units of measure in the system to ensure costing is updated as per operational targets and maintained accurately.
  • Consolidate and send daily/monthly inventory reports to the Management, providing complete reconciliation reports and making necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare costing and selling prices for combo deals and promotion activities, in collaboration with the executive head chef and operations managers, to achieve sales budgets with minimum cost.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent.
  • 4+ years of job-related experience.
  • Inventory control experience, preferably within the Hospitality industry.
  • Qualification in Financial Accounting or equivalent.
