Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading tax assessments and enquiries, developing strong technical arguments to support tax positions, and managing relationships with tax authorities to mitigate risks and penalties.

Responsibilities

  • Lead VAT assessments and provide strategic responses to tax authority queries, fostering a culture of compliance across the organisation.
  • Monitor regulatory changes, assess their impact on the business, and provide proactive recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Work closely with IT teams to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into financial systems, leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for tax-related functionalities.
  • Maintain and enhance tax policies and procedures, ensuring documentation is up to date and aligned with evolving regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Internationally recognised accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) – mandatory.
  • Internationally recognised tax qualification – preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least 3 years in a tax compliance leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations specific to the oil & gas sector.
