Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Welding Specialist to join our team in Qatar.

About the Role

This is a contract and residential role, where you will work on a Multi-Billion LNG expansion project. As Head of Welding Engineering, you will be responsible for stewarding welding engineering activities and reviewing related deliverables during the EPC phase.

You will review Contractor's and Vendor's welding deliverables, including Welding Procedure Specifications (WPSs) and welding qualification and testing procedures. You will also support the QA/QC effort in welding qualification and control of welds.

Key Responsibilities
  • Steward the Welding Engineering activities and ensure the welding engineering scope is fully understood and implemented by the EPC Contractor and its Vendors/Suppliers.
  • Perform as a focal point for all welding matters on all types of metals (e.g., welding of conventional alloys, welding and welding overlay of Corrosion Resistance Alloys - CRA, etc.) on all equipment, packages and components (e.g., piping, static equipment, valves, etc.).
  • Exhibit full understanding of the challenges of the welding scope and supervise the EPC scope elaboration with relation to the welding.
  • Responsible for overall guidance on all welding engineering deliverables in terms of coverage, quality and schedule as per Projects requirements, in particular the welding and testing procedures and their associated qualification procedures.
  • Interact with the EPC Contractor and its subcontractors and vendors on welding engineering matters and reviews and approves all Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and their associated qualification and testing procedures.
