Munitions Inspector Job Description

The Munitions Inspector is a critical role within Amentum, responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient handling, storage, and transportation of U.S. Air Force (USAF) munitions and related equipment. This position requires a high level of expertise in explosives safety, quality management, and technical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Conduct thorough inspections of munitions and containers to ensure compliance with USAF and host nation regulations.
  2. Operate and maintain Theater Integrated Combat Munitions Systems (TICMS) and other related equipment.
  3. Ensure accurate documentation of serviceability and accountability actions.
  4. Collaborate with operations personnel to resolve any issues related to munitions storage and handling.
  5. Perform warehouse inventories and correct any discrepancies.
  6. Provide support to deployed forces in maintaining custody of munitions.
  7. Inspect and certify munitions brass, residue, and containers.
  8. Operate assigned Combat Ammunition System.
  9. Recondition, repair, and replace defective or missing parts of munitions and containers.
  10. Perform munitions storage actions in accordance with explosives standards.
  11. Inspect and operate electronic test equipment, metal strapping equipment, and other related tools.
  12. Perform minor maintenance on facilities and equipment.
  13. Deliver general and explosives safety briefings for all explosives operations.
  14. Work flexible hours, including stand-by duties, to support mission requirements.
Requirements:
  1. Intermediate knowledge of USAF Supply, TMO, Munitions, and Tech Order systems or US service equivalent.
  2. Proficiency in personal computers and Windows Operating System, including Microsoft Office.
  3. Ability to operate material handling equipment.
  4. Valid home country driver's license and ability to obtain host nation driver's license.
  5. High School diploma or equivalent required.
  6. Minimum four years of experience with Military Munitions.
  7. Completed formal USAF Munitions Systems training or US Service equivalent.
  8. Certified Munitions Inspector and/or award of SEI 836.
  9. Eligible to obtain and maintain a US Secret Security Clearance.
  10. Physically capable of performing all required duties, including lifting/pushing/pulling minimum of 50 lbs.
  11. Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  12. Normal color perception and depth of vision.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. Working knowledge of all munitions functional areas.
  2. Intermediate knowledge of MC2 and other information systems.
  3. USAF munitions storage, maintenance, control, and inspection procedures experience.
  4. TICMS, CAS, MC2, TMRS, and IMDS for Munitions and MMHE experience.
  5. Minimum 2 years of experience as USAF Munitions Inspector and award of Special Experience Identifier (SEI) Code 836.
  6. CCAF degree in Munitions Management.
