About the Role

The Senior Legal Specialist will be responsible for managing the litigation portfolio and collaborating with external counsel. This role requires providing accurate assessments of cases covering various jurisdictions and offering high-quality legal advice to Qatar Airways and its subsidiaries. As the Group Legal point of contact, the successful candidate will update User departments on litigation proceedings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure timely follow-up of the litigation portfolio and maintain regular communication with external counsels.
  • Review court documents, submissions, and related files to effectively defend company rights.
  • Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and provide informed recommendations.
  • Work closely with company department leaders and serve as their trusted legal advisor.
  • Develop and implement suggestions for court case trackers.
  • Provide active participation and high-quality review within the Legal department.
  • Identify issues and determine when the escalation procedure should be initiated.
  • Resolve disputes and identify areas for improvement in company policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of litigation experience.
  • Must be a qualified and bilingual lawyer in a recognized jurisdiction (preferably in the MENA region).
  • Must have work experience in a law firm or in-house legal environment in Qatar or the MENA region.
  • Excellent Arabic drafting skills are a must.
  • Ability to work in a team.
  • Experience working in Qatar or the MENA region for an airline, cargo, or shipping company.
  • Litigation management experience.
