About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Lead to join our team at lxbfYeaa. As a Technical Lead, you will be responsible for leading IT application architecture and solution design for assigned business units. Your activities will involve requirements gathering, solution design reviews, interface control design and reviews, tech architecture reviews, unit test reviews, test scenario generation support, NFR testing, and software delivery related quality assurance compliances.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to and review documentation of functional specifications, interface specifications, and non-functional requirements.
  • Liaise with external 3rd party suppliers and internal departments/IT teams to collaborate and design and implement robust interfaces between applications for effective integration.
  • Design and build IT solutions that are scalable, resilient, and sustainable to address business requirements.
  • Assist in developing the UI/UX as per business needs.
  • Prepare and review high-level and low-level design artifacts, ensuring adherence to QRIT Software Governance Integration (SGI) standards.
  • Responsible for development and unit testing for complex modules in case of bespoke development.
  • Ensure conduct of QA reviews and unit test case reviews for assigned applications.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all application non-functional requirements are met, ensuring thorough testing of NFRs, and ensuring corrective/preventive actions.
  • Responsible for solution design, methods, and tools, including technical aspects of configuration management methods, system security requirements, operational, and maintenance aspects of solutions under development.
  • Ensure quality control activities (including NFR testing) are carried out satisfactorily. Attend quality reviews as appropriate.
  • Coordinate design activity within a program of change, acting as custodian of the solution designs for the entire technology stack.
  • Takes responsibility for the technical integrity of solution designs, ensuring that common technical elements are recognized and that work is not unnecessarily duplicated.
  • Supports in the development of service level agreements and any associated service guarantees.
  • Assist in preparation and review of release notes, prior to release of the application to production.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of reported incidents in operational systems and ensure timely fixes.
  • Ensure that solution reviews for fixes, functionality are fully tested and then promoted following the software release management processes.
  • Conduct proactive performance and fine-tuning of production applications for early detection and rectification of slow response transactions, application errors, query tuning, etc., and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • To enforce compliance to QRIT policies while selecting solution design components, and coordinate design activities, promoting the discipline to ensure consistency in assigned projects.
  • Ensures that appropriate standards (corporate, industry, national, and international) are adhered to.
  • Responsible for ensuring that solution design caters to functional, non-functional, security, service quality, and systems management requirements.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
Qualifications

About You

  • High school qualification/vocational qualification/diploma or equivalent (type of diploma based on role) with minimum 5 years of job-related experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with minimum 4 years of job-related experience.
  • Relevant college or university qualification to min Bachelor's level.
  • Degree in engineering/computer science/mathematics/sciences/commerce/relevant major.
  • 5 years in a relevant architecture domain such as data, infrastructure, application, or business.
  • Good understanding of software development life cycle and software quality assurance processes.
  • Expertise in area(s) architecture domain such as data, infrastructure, application, business, and/or software development.
  • Ability to conduct research and adopt emerging technologies and software development tools.
  • Must have good analytical skills and ability to troubleshoot and solve problems.
  • Managerial skills - ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow. Strong mentoring and coaching skills. Ability to train and develop subordinate's skills. Ability to foster teamwork among team members.

Preferred

  • Airline industry experience though not essential would be an added advantage.
  • Degree/honors/masters in engineering/computer science.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as COBIT, TOGAF, ITIL.
  • 8+ years in a relevant architecture domain such as data, infrastructure, application, business, and/or software development and maintenance, with key roles played in design and production maintenance, support, and performance management.
  • Communication skills.
