Responsibilities

As a highly motivated and flexible individual, you will be responsible for working in a time-sensitive environment to respond quickly and effectively to unanticipated high workloads, events, and emergencies.

You will be expected to have a thorough understanding of all aspects of safety issues related to railway operations, and to be able to multitask and analyze situations promptly and without bias, so as to determine the proper course of action or alternatives without jeopardizing human safety, quality, and committed performance targets.

You will also be responsible for communicating and motivating staff, and for making decisions on complex matters using excellent analytical reasoning ability.

Qualifications

To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that your career journey to date will include 10 years of railway operations experience, partnered with a Bachelor or Master's degree. Membership of Chartered Institution of Railway Operators or other relevant professional associations is also required.

You will need to have a working knowledge of train scheduling, train utilization control centre operations, station operations, train operations, and depot operations, as well as a thorough understanding of the rail systems basics, such as moving block signalling systems, traction power supply, distribution platform screen doors, automatic fare collection, track and crossovers control, and communication systems, and E&M systems, their functions, operations, and maintenance.
