Job Description

Amentum is seeking highly skilled linguists with expertise in Pashtu and Dari to support military operations.

The selected candidate will provide operational contract linguist support, interpret during interviews, meetings, and conferences, transcribe and analyze verbal communications, scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents, and supply a variety of translation and interpretation services for Pashtu and Dari.

Responsibilities
  • Provide linguistic support for military operations, including interpretation and translation services.
  • Transcribe and analyze verbal communications, ensuring accurate and timely delivery of information.
  • Scan, research, and analyze foreign language documents to identify key information and trends.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership staff to provide cultural perspective and understanding of the region's historical, political, sociological, and economic trends.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent command of Pashtu and Dari (target languages) & English verbal skills; Interagency Language Roundtable (ILR) proficiency level 3 in target language and proficiency level 2+ in English based on oral and written language skills examination.
  • Active Secret clearance for access to classified information.
  • Ability to work in Qatar and adapt to local culture and customs.
  • Willingness to work shifts and extended hours in support of 24 x 7 operations.
  • Medical examination and ability to meet all MOD15 requirements put into place by the military.
