About the Role

Avanceon Middle East & South Asia is seeking a highly skilled Automation Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Testing & Commissioning Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and functionality of automation systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Execute Test Plans: Design and implement comprehensive test plans to validate the performance and reliability of automation systems.
  • Troubleshoot and Resolve Automation Issues: Identify and resolve complex automation issues, optimize system performance, and minimize downtime.
  • Conduct Regular System Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance activities, including upgrades, backups, and configuration updates, to ensure automation systems operate at peak efficiency.
  • Provide Training and Support: Deliver training and technical support to operations teams on the proper use and maintenance of automation systems.
  • Document Processes and Changes: Maintain accurate records of automation system configurations, changes, and processes.
  • Prepare Progress and Root Cause Analysis Reports: Compile and present detailed reports on project progress, root cause analysis, and recommendations for improvement.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering or Related Field: Hold a diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, automation, or a related field.
  • Automation Experience: Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in automation, with a focus on PLC/RTU programming and commissioning, preferably in water and wastewater, oil and gas, and infrastructure projects.
  • PLC and RTU Platforms: Have experience working with various PLC platforms, including Schneider M580, Rockwell Control & Compact Logix, Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500, PCS-7, WinCC SCADA, and TBOX RTU.
  • Communication Protocols: Familiarity with open communication protocols used in automation, such as Modbus Serial, Modbus RTU, BACnet MSTP, OPC, MQTT, and DNP3.
  • Control Panel Wiring and Instrumentation: Ability to read and understand control panel wiring and instrumentation documents.
  • Problem-Solving and Analytical Skills: Possess strong problem-solving and analytical skills to troubleshoot complex automation issues.
  • Communication and Teamwork: Excellent communication and teamwork abilities, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • UPDA Holder: Hold a valid UPDA certification.
  • MS Office Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • International Driving License: Preference for an international driving license.
