Key Accountabilities

As a Senior Emerging Platforms Officer at Qatar Airways, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of new platform functionalities. This includes:

  • Collaborating with product management and stakeholders to document business processes, objectives, and technical requirements.
  • Conducting research to identify innovative travel solutions and new platform services, and developing expected scopes of services and potential new service providers.
  • Leveraging customer and competitive insights to inform idea exploration and workshops, and prioritizing opportunities aligned to segments and audiences.
  • Formalizing ideas and service concepts into compelling, profitable, and differentiated value propositions, including scoping, measuring benefits, and value for customers, and completing competitive benchmarking and developing a go-to-market strategy.
  • Identifying emerging trends and analyzing whitespace opportunities in the market to determine potential impact on professional services.
  • Participating in solution definition and review with engineers and architects to ensure platform requirements are properly translated to development.
  • Establishing regular exchange of information with customer-facing teams to understand customer pain points and channel customer experience feedback into the emerging platforms roadmap.
  • Establishing guidelines for qualitative and quantitative emerging platform usage by capability and enforcing these by implementing monitoring and conducting audits.
  • Assessing the impact of new features for emerging platforms after implementation, collecting, reviewing, and collating internal and external feedback and analytics.
  • Investigating emerging platform performance irregularities, reviewing user feedback and system logs, and rectifying and conducting testing to ensure functionality and issue is addressed.
  • Preparing and maintaining emerging platform feature documentation and interface documentation to allow product teams to develop new products and services.
  • Developing best practices for consuming new services for product and services teams to ensure consistency and optimized usage.
  • Maintaining platform user license and quota allocations to avoid exceeding contracted values, providing alerts and justification for amendments in licensing/quotas.
  • Preparing platform updates when new versions are released from vendors, reviewing changelogs and current capability utilization to identify opportunities and gaps.
