As a Senior Welding Engineering Manager at lxbfYeaa, you will play a critical role in overseeing the implementation of quality programs, ensuring that all procedures are established in accordance with project requirements. This includes reviewing contractors' quality deliverables, such as welding procedure specifications (WPSs), procedure quality records (PQRs), and NDT procedures.

The operating environment is dynamic and challenging, requiring high personal commitment and organization. Flexible time management is crucial when working in a construction team environment. Your positional boundary is set by approved project organization charts. This position is full-time and site-based at Ras Laffan.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. To apply leadership and be visually vocal in promoting an incident-injury-free work culture.
  2. Review EPC key reporting areas and advise on opportunities for improvement.
  3. Work with EPC contractors to ensure their quality, welding, and NDE processes and plans are robust, well-documented, and adequately resourced.
  4. Act as a focal point for quality, welding, and NDE matters, providing recommendations for improvement and corrective action as needed.
  5. Verify that construction quality systems and procedures comply with approved quality management systems requirements.
Your Ideal Profile
  1. Possess a degree in Metallurgical/Welding Engineering or Mechanical Engineering with Welding Engineering.
  2. Hold a welding professional qualification (CEng, EWE, or IWE).
  3. Desirable qualifications include auditing and NDT fields.
  4. A minimum of 10 years' experience leading welding engineering, quality control, and coordination of welding activities within the Oil & Gas Construction Industry.
  5. Experience working with multi-national contractors, particularly those involved in LNG production facilities construction.
  6. Considerable relevant experience in onshore Oil & Gas installations construction.
  7. Demonstrated technical knowledge and extensive experience in welding processes, especially high-strength steels used in the oil and gas industry.
  8. Expertise in welding API 620 tanks and piping/pipelines.
  9. Familiarity with international codes and standards in the oil and gas industry.
  10. Mechanical testing expertise, including corrosion and pitting tests.
  11. Prior Qatar Gas or IOC project experiences are highly valued.
  12. Able to make positive decisions, demonstrating high levels of judgement and responsibility.
  13. Assertive quality management leadership skills.
  14. Capable of communicating quality and welding requirements, results, and status across company and contractor levels.
  15. Strong planning and organizing skills.
  16. Good work ethics, teamwork, and inter-functional support.
  17. Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
