Job Summary
The Supply Chain Manager will be responsible for strategizing and planning supply chain operations, optimizing processes and systems, creating and implementing purchasing policies, overseeing inventory, transportation, and warehousing, negotiating with suppliers and customers to fully support the ABAM division in achieving its goals and objectives, ultimately to ensure profitability maximization and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Supply Chain/Procurement:
- Develops internal purchasing policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to ensure process transparency, fairness, impartiality, and confidentiality.
- Develops appropriate supply chain strategy through strategy, resource optimization, profitability maximization, and KPIs resulting in the maximization of customer satisfaction.
- Designs and oversees the procurement process along with its relevant policies and regulating guidelines to ensure the timely purchase and receipt of products, materials.
- Establishes annual goals and objectives in coordination with Division objectives and manages performance to ensure attainment.
- Closely works with Division Managers to execute flawlessly on new agencies developments and provides inputs on logistics and inventory costs and assists in feasibility studies.
- Ensures that all purchasing activities support and strengthen the strategic objectives of the overall organization.
- Monitors the movement of stocks/products to identify slow-moving/non-moving items and informs the management/Sales Manager on the status of these items for their reference and action.
- Analyzes and highlights Non-Performing Inventories and liaises with Division Managers and GM to draw a plan to liquidate the same.
- Monitors products/stocks threshold levels, defined by Management, to timely prepare and submit Purchase Orders for products/stocks that have reached the minimum threshold level.
- Manages Inventory Levels, avoids overstocking, and minimizes Out of Stock to match customer requirements within the constraints of working capital affordability and budgets.
- Ensures the order cycle is efficiently managed from order processing to delivery of goods to clients and monitors the status of shipments to ensure on-time delivery to the warehouse.
- Liaises with the logistics function to ensure timely clearing, offloading containers, scanning, and updating stocks in the system.
- Solves complex escalated problems related to Supply Chain issues with reference to established principles.
- Coodinates with Department Heads in Finance & Sales Functions to solve complex issues related to Forecasting, Sales Performance, Stock Norms, Working Capital, Non-Performing Inventories, etc.
- Resolves complex issues related to customs clearance & regulatory issues.
- Develops and maintains effective relationships internally and externally with all supply chain stakeholders.
- Controls transportation expenses related to team movement within the city.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Procurement, Supply Chain, economics, or equivalent in a business-related subject or field.
- Certifications in Supply Chain, Purchasing, Logistics/Trainings are desirable.
- 7 to 10 years' experience in Supply Chain, Logistics, Purchase, and Inventory Management within the Medical Industries, of which 4-6 in a management capacity.
- Working knowledge of ERP (Oracle) or Inventory Planning software is required, along with an advanced level of Microsoft skills.
- Adept in qualitative and quantitative data analysis (e.g. statistical, financial) and presentation.
- Fluent in English, knowledge of Arabic is desirable.
- Advanced knowledge in MS Office suite is essential.
- SAP/Oracle or Supply Chain database management knowledge.
- Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
- Possesses sound commercial business acumen.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced intensive working environment dealing with local and international suppliers.
