About the Role

Join our team as an EHS Specialist and make a meaningful impact on our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement EHS plans for projects, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Lead EHS kick-off and pre-mob meetings, ensuring all team members are aware of EHS expectations.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate risks.

Implementation:

  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure EHS-related permits, authorizations, and certifications are in place.
  • Design and implement training programs to meet EHS requirements, including safety inductions and toolbox talks.
  • Ensure all team members are aware of EHS expectations and requirements.
  • Review and approve safe work method statements and risk assessments for contractors.
  • Liaise with project managers and customer/contractor EHS representatives to ensure EHS compliance.
  • Support the development of last-minute risk analysis and point-of-work risk assessments.

Monitoring and Reporting:

  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify risks and implement corrective measures.
  • Monitor compliance with inspection intervals for tools, lifting gear, load attachment, rigging, and other technical equipment.
  • Check emergency preparedness and report any inadequacies or nonconformities to project managers.
  • Provide regular EHS reports to project managers and BU EHS officers to ensure transparency.
  • Investigate and record incidents, implementing measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Identify trends and implement countermeasures based on analysis of statistics and near misses.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Promote the sharing of standard methodologies and lessons learned.
  • Evaluate contractors' EHS performance and provide feedback to project managers and BU EHS officers.
  • Support the evaluation of accidents, near misses, and measures to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Timely reporting and closure of EHS incidents, EHS trainings, inductions, COVID-19 management plans, and EHS plan implementation.

Requirements:

  • Technical background in mechanical trade, preferably with a diploma.
  • NEBOSH IGC Level 3 certification.
  • Basic First Aid and Fire Warden training.
  • Minimum 5 years of site-related experience in service projects for rotating equipment in power plants or oil and gas industries.
  • Technical experience as a mechanical fitter at turbines is a plus.
  • Understanding and handling of permit-to-work systems at power plant sites.
  • Experience working with multicultural teams.
