The Rig Supervisor plays a pivotal role as the senior company representative on the drilling unit, ensuring the technical integrity of the well and adherence to project objectives.

Your Responsibilities
  • Oversee daily operations in accordance with approved company programs, HSE policies, and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with barge contractors and third-party service providers to ensure seamless execution of tasks.
  • Verify that all required personnel, materials, and equipment are available and ready for deployment.
  • Maintain strict adherence to regulations governing the work, ensuring compliance by all parties involved.
Key Operational Areas
  • Co-supervise routine operations such as well kill, ESP replacement, acidizing, nitrogen pumping, slickline, and production testing.
  • Assist in non-routine operations like fishing or logging by coiled tubing.
  • Collaborate with other onboard personnel to manage the work efficiently.
  • Maintain awareness of well bore conditions and operating constraints affecting operational safety.
  • Initiate changes to the pre-agreed program when necessary to protect personnel, environment, equipment, and the well.
  • Lead the well control team in conjunction with the barge contractor's senior personnel.
  • Ensure well control and safety/survival equipment is serviceable, and personnel are competent in its use.
  • Foster effective communication with the onshore team regarding marine vessels and aircraft utilization for movement of personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Audit work performed by the barge contractor and third-party service providers to ensure conformance to contractual terms.
  • Participate in pre-load out checks, assist in preparing operating procedures, and attend procedure review meetings before departing offshore.
  • Prepare detailed daily operations reports and proficiently prepare daily work instructions.
  • Supervise national junior company personnel and multinational service company personnel.
  • Ensure job execution adheres to the approved program, incorporating risk mitigation measures identified in pre-job safety meetings. Conduct pre-job safety meetings prior to commencing any task.
  • Compile end-of-well reports and participate in post-job wash-ups and lessons learned sessions.
Reporting Requirements
  • Guarantee completion of routine work and cost control reports demanded by the operator, regulatory bodies, and other relevant organizations in a professional manner.
HSE and Compliance
  • Manage company HSE systems on the barge in collaboration with the Company HSE advisor.
  • Take a leading role in the barge contractor's Emergency Response Plan on the barge.
  • Adhere to company health, safety, and environmental guidelines, act safely, and avoid unnecessary risks to oneself and others.
  • Promptly report any unsafe conditions or activities, dangerous occurrences, or injuries within the workplace.
  • Assist new employees in understanding relevant work procedures and practices to ensure their safety and the safety of all employees.
  • Exhibit Safety Leadership by example.
Your Profile
  • Possess at least 15 years' experience in offshore oil & gas drilling and well workover/intervention operations.
  • Hold a minimum of 10 years' experience in drilling and well workover/intervention supervisory positions, with extensive familiarity with oil/gas drilling, sidetracks, horizontal drilling, well workover/well intervention operations, stimulation (well kill operations, de-completion, fishing, open hole logging, deployment of shut-off devices, coiled tubing, running completions, acidizing, ESP replacement, etc.).
  • Demonstrate recent exposure to Qatari Oil & Gas operations.
  • Hold valid certification in IWCF (level 4) well control, H2S, and Sea Survival (HUET).
  • Display leadership and communication skills.
  • Demonstrate good data management and computer literacy.
  • Be proficient in both written and spoken English.
  • Possess an Engineering degree from a recognized University (preferable). Demonstrate recent exposure to Middle East Oil & Gas operations.
  • Show specific Petroleum Engineering Qualifications e.g., stuck pipe prevention, Safety training etc.

We offer competitive compensation packages, including a day rate in USD plus allowance. The work schedule consists of eight hours a day, five days a week. We provide a four-year contract with possible extension.
