Job Purpose

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading tax assessments and enquiries, developing strong technical arguments to support tax positions, and managing relationships with tax authorities to mitigate risks and penalties.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions and specific joint venture (JV) agreements, implementing necessary policy and procedure updates to minimise exposure.
  • Oversee the transfer pricing process, ensuring accurate disclosure of related party transactions in line with applicable regulations.
  • Lead the review of tax returns for JV entities, analysing financial data and developing tax optimisation strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance on deferred tax treatment for complex transactions, including impairments, decommissioning, and foreign exchange impacts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Internationally recognised accounting qualification (CPA, ACA, ACCA, CIMA, etc.) – mandatory.
  • Internationally recognised tax qualification – preferred.
  • 10 years of experience in the oil & gas industry, including at least 3 years in a tax compliance leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of tax regulations specific to the oil & gas sector.
