Job Description

Mph is currently recruiting a highly skilled HVAC Engineer for a contract duration till September 2025.

The successful candidate will be based in various locations including Doha, India, Vietnam, Malaysia, Oman, China, Korea, and Singapore.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure Engineering Excellence
  1. Deliver robust HVAC engineering definitions and designs that meet project requirements and standards.
  2. Manage assigned project tasks efficiently, ensuring timely completion and adherence to contractual obligations.
Design and Development
  1. Review and challenge HVAC discipline documents to ensure optimized and fit-for-purpose outcomes.
  2. Contribute to project studies and meetings related to the HVAC discipline, following approved gate levels and design maturity.
  3. Identify potential risks and scope changes, conducting initial impact assessments and providing detailed information to Package Engineering Coordinators.
Project Coordination
  1. Coordinate proper realization of the HVAC design, adhering to project specifications, procedures, time schedules, quality, and safety standards.
  2. Challenge EPCIC Contractors on proposed designs, overseeing the development of HVAC designs, basis of design, philosophy, equipment specifications, load calculations, routing, and drawings.
  3. Promote field technical optimization and cost savings while ensuring compliance with project schedules and contracts.
  4. Identify HVAC engineering technical decisions and manage clear ways forward for these decisions, reporting to HVAC Leads/Package Engineering Coordinators.
  5. Work closely with weight control engineers and teams to monitor and control weight.
  6. Contribute to the identification and specification of Low-Level Items (LLIs).
  7. Ensure close coordination with other disciplines on engineering, constructability, and operational matters.
  8. Review previous projects' feedback and lessons learned to enhance design performance.
  9. Assist in planning and preparation of HVAC discipline kick-off meetings with EPC Contractors.
  10. Support procurement engineering, TBEs, vendor document reviews, and site visits.
  11. Support fabrication and construction engineering, reviewing documents, approving modifications, and non-conformity reviews.
  12. Support installation and hookup stages, reviewing work-packs, red-marks, and approvals.
Document Review and Control
  1. Ensure timely review and comment on project documents related to the HVAC discipline, adhering to NOC standards, project specifications, and contractual obligations.
  2. Identify opportunities for design improvements and propose value-engineering solutions.
  3. Promote fit-for-purpose designs to optimize planning and costs.
  4. Coordinate and issue project responses to contractors' and vendors' requests for engineering design clarifications and TQRs.
  5. Prepare deviation packages and consult with E&C departments for HVAC derogation requests.
  6. Review final project documentation, including final dossiers and as-built drawings.
Studies and Meetings
  1. Assist in defining, following up, and evaluating HVAC discipline studies conducted by Contractors, ensuring completion according to approved project gates and maturity.
  2. Participate in project studies, including model reviews, HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and PRs.
  3. Provide technical answers and clarifications during internal project audit sessions.
  4. Attend weekly engineering meetings with Contractors and specific ad-hoc meetings as required by management.
  5. Prepare engineering progress reports detailing HVAC discipline progress across schedules, risks, and technical issues.
Risk Identification and Change Management
  1. Identify potential engineering scope changes related to the HVAC discipline and conduct initial technical assessments.
  2. Capture and manage any changes according to the project change management plan.
