We're looking for an experienced Civil Engineer to join our team as a Senior Wet Utilities Engineer. The ideal candidate will have a minimum 12 years' experience in the related discipline and 8 years Oil and Gas Industry experience in green-field and brown-field projects.

The role involves providing water engineering services to Worley and its customers, including technical support and supervision within the civil engineering team. You will ensure team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.

Main Responsibilities

  1. Ensures team member adherence to generally accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
  2. Supports the standardization of equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
  3. Contributes to the understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications whenever viable and lawful.
  4. Uses local/global standards to support technical excellence.
  5. Supports checking, peer reviews, and incorporation of comments and findings.
  6. Technical supervision of project designated designers and draftsmen in the execution of their duty.
  7. Preparation /checking of Specifications, data sheets.
  8. Performance of bid evaluation and vendor document review and approval.
  9. Compute civil engineering design computations.
  10. Develop water distribution system computer models.
  11. Develop sanitary collection systems computer models.
  12. Develop storm water conveyance systems computer models.
  13. Supports Lead Engineer in monitoring quality activities, drives and participates in squad checking, recommends improvements, and takes action where required.
  14. Assist Project Team in project documentation such as proposals, estimates, budgets and schedules.
  15. Incorporates information from multiple sources into equipment/material specifications, data sheets, testing requirements, and material requisitions.
  16. Reviews similar documentation to assist others and reviews/authorizes work done by direct reports.
  17. Seeks input from knowledgeable sources, participates in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews, and ensures that requirements are incorporated into engineering/design.
  18. Works with site personnel to resolve issues.
  19. Create plans or documents that support construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
  20. Review and approve projects modifications as-built documents.
  21. Leads on-site support for construction, commissioning, or turn over.

  1. Responsible for personal safety safe working practices. Understand and follow OH&S procedures.
  2. Promoting health, safety and environmental awareness.

Technical And Industry Experience

  1. Minimum 12 years' experience in the related discipline.
  2. 8 years Oil and Gas Industry experience in green-field and brown-field projects.
  3. Demonstrate a visible and active commitment to HSE management and its associated requirements in a project environment.
  4. Specialized expertise of the regulations, codes and standards and a good understanding of practices applicable to engineering design for utilities & infrastructure industry projects.
  5. Specialized expertise of applicable local and international standards and statutory and regulatory requirements.
  6. In-depth knowledge of discipline design/engineering with wide experience in multi-discipline areas.
  7. Expertise in the design of storm water and sewerage collection networks in the ME region.
  8. Good experience of pressurized distribution networks design (potable water, fire water, irrigation water) systems.
  9. Must be expert of InfoWorks ICM design software used by the PWA (Ashghal) during approval process.
  10. Competent in the design of wastewater collection networks using suitable supporting design software.
  11. Candidates will be familiar with WaterGEMS, InfoWorks WS and similar design software.

Education, Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  1. Full-Time Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  2. MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
  3. Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage.
