Job Summary

The German University in Cairo is seeking a highly qualified and experienced Associate Professor of Visual Design and Communications to join our faculty. As a key member of our architecture and urban design program, you will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate-level courses, developing innovative research activities, and contributing to the advancement of our program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate-level courses in architecture and visual design, visual communication, and architectural representation.
  • Develop and lead design studios at undergraduate and graduate levels.
  • Design and teach advanced elective courses on innovative topics relevant to architecture, spatial design, interior design, visual communication, and architectural representation.
  • Supervise bachelor's, master's, and PhD theses.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary studies, research, and collaboration with other university faculties, departments, and academies of arts.

Qualifications

  • Several years of practical and teaching experience in architecture (spatial design/interior design) or a field of visual communication related to architecture.
  • A professional practice portfolio with examples of work executed by the applicant or under the direct supervision of the candidate.
  • A teaching portfolio with examples of work undertaken with students, documenting the candidate's pedagogical and didactic suitability.
  • A Doctorate/PhD in architecture (spatial design/interior design) or a field of visual communication related to architecture is welcomed.
  • Fluency in English is required.
