Job Summary:

EGEC is seeking a highly skilled Deputy Design Manager to join our team. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for reviewing designs from various disciplines and ensuring they meet building codes, standards, and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the design process from inception to completion, ensuring quality and client satisfaction.
  • Oversee the design team, including structure, architecture, and MEP design.
  • Collaborate with engineering staff to produce design sketches and drawings in accordance with applicable standards.
  • Prepare and review design documents and instructions.
  • Verify design drawings and technical documentation to ensure correctness and accuracy.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines for necessary information.
  • Conduct or attend design review meetings with stakeholders.
  • Check contract technical specifications for adequacy and implementation.
  • Ensure design alignment, coordination, and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise in policy development and review.
  • Research and maintain knowledge of current building materials and methods.
  • Approve drawings and plans, validating approval for further process.
  • Identify and resolve design issues.
  • Prepare scope of work, specifications, and drawings for tender documents.
  • Coordinate team efforts to complete projects promptly and successfully.
  • Act as intermediary between clients and the team.
  • Work within constraining factors such as town planning legislation, environmental impact, and project budget.
  • Obtain municipal approval and follow up on building permits.
  • Manage project finances and deadlines.
