Job Specification:

Applus+ Velosi is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Head of Civil Engineering to oversee the Civil/Structural engineering discipline during the FEED phase. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all aspects of civil/structural design are technically aligned and in compliance with Qatargas Operations, Policies, Standards of Business Conduct, and Qatargas Project Management System (QGPMS).

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and expertise to the FEED contractor, ensuring that all civil/structural engineering activities are completed to meet project objectives and milestones.
  2. Civil/Structural Engineering Scope: Direct the preparation and stewardship of the Civil/Structural Engineering scope of work in the FEED contract, advising on design procedures, processes, deliverables, and alternative studies to optimize project cost and schedule.
  3. Project Engineering: Interact with Engineering Team Management to complete multi-discipline engineering activities, ensuring alignment with the Engineering Manager on project engineering needs, objectives, and requirements.
  4. FEED Contractor Management: Manage the FEED Contractor's Piping Engineering activities, including validation of personnel numbers, qualifications, and experience, as well as adherence to project objectives, requirements, specifications, standards, procedures, execution plans, and design verification processes.
  5. Capability Assessment: Assess and validate the FEED Contractor's capability in providing all contract documents, progress measurement, and reporting, and recommend additional technical support to address gaps.
  6. Contract Management: Manage the technical attachments and scope descriptions for relevant contracts, ensuring timely delivery of all purchase orders.
  7. Schedule Management: Responsible for the Civil/Structural Engineering schedule and related milestones, providing data for monthly progress and stewardship reporting.
  8. Lessons Learned: Accountable for sharing previous lessons learned and ensuring current lessons learned are captured and communicated to support review teams and future projects.
  9. Policies and Procedures: Develop, review, and amend various policies and procedures to ensure that all Civil/Structural engineering references are up to date and relevant.
Requirements:

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent, with professional registration with an accredited Regulatory Body desirable (PE, C.Eng., EUR ING, or equivalent years of experience at a senior Civil/Structural Engineering supervisory level with a broad knowledge of engineering execution, including design standards, specifications, codes, safety criteria, and construction.
