About the Role

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our Information and Communication Technology (ICT) department, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our CCTV and Access Control systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan, design, and enhance the strategic and on-going CCTV and Access Control deployments in our regions.
  • Provide technical consultancy to ICT management and staff, as well as 2nd and 3rd level support for technicians during and after office hours.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of systems and services.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including system architecture diagrams and technical specifications.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices, and apply this knowledge to improve our systems and processes.
Requirements
  • Minimum 8 years of progressive experience in the related field, including at least 5 years of technical experience with the integration, installation, operation, and maintenance of CCTV systems, electronic access control devices, and intrusion detection equipment.
  • Strong set of architectural skills and expertise within the infrastructure environment of a data center, including capacity planning, performance analysis, and the integration of systems management.
  • Experience in CCTV system setup, operation, integration, software, and hardware of analog and digital video cameras, network storage, archive, setup, and integration of assessment systems using correlation of video assessment and alarms with intrusion detection system (IDS) and access control system (ACS) alarms.
  • Familiarity with government regulations, secure networks, and characteristics and limitations of video assessment systems.
  • Operating and maintaining existing access control, intrusion detection, CCTV systems, and equipment distributed across our regions.
  • Monitoring, managing, and troubleshooting CCTV/ACS environment, in-depth technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills in Microsoft Windows Servers OS.
  • Experience in working with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (previously known as SCCM) and storage technologies like SAN and NAS.
  • Desirable skills include understanding security practices concerning file systems, identity management, server hardening, vulnerabilities, project management, change management processes, contracts administration, license management, report generation on utilization, liaison with project team on assessing requirements, and planning capacity accordingly.
Education

Bachelor's degree in computer science, or in a related Engineering field or Management in Information Systems. Relevant Industry leading Certifications in CCTV/ACS systems will be an added advantage.
