Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to join our team in Doha, Qatar. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the commercial and financial aspects of local roads and drainage projects, working closely with consultants and contractors to ensure project delivery within contract requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Commercial and Contract Management: Manage commercial and contract risk across the project portfolio, prepare regular reports, and ensure that the firm's interests are protected.
  2. Project Coordination: Identify and coordinate interfaces with internal and external stakeholders to ensure necessary support for project delivery.
  3. Commercial Strategy: Assist in the development of commercial and contract procurement strategy, including potential suppliers for the supply chain.
  4. Contract Review: Advise on the suitability of contract terms and conditions in coordination with government departments.
  5. Tender and Proposal Management: Establish tender/proposal milestone schedules, support development of tender/proposal documents, review selection of proposed bidders, and review recommendation as to the preferred bidder.

Requirements:

  1. Qualifications: Degree qualification in Quantity Surveying, Cost Engineering, or comparable, with Chartered status from a recognized institution being highly regarded.
  2. Experience: Minimum of 20+ years' experience in managing the cost, financial, and procurement aspects of roads and drainage projects, with experience in the GCC region being highly regarded.
  3. Skills: Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with consultants and contractors.
