Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Fabrication Hardware Engineer to join our team at Google. As a key member of our quantum device fabrication team, you will be responsible for developing and sustaining semiconductor microfabrication processes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Fabrication of Quantum Devices
    • Design, develop, and implement new fabrication processes for quantum devices.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of fabrication processes with other areas of the business.
  • Process Development and Optimization
    • Develop and sustain semiconductor microfabrication processes, including thin film deposition, photolithography, etch, thermal, wet chemistries, singulation, metrology, and/or packaging.
    • Optimize existing processes to improve yield, reduce costs, and enhance overall quality.
  • Equipment Maintenance and Troubleshooting
    • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on fabrication equipment to ensure optimal performance.
    • Collaborate with equipment vendors to resolve technical issues and implement process improvements.
  • Process Stability and Control
    • Develop and implement process control strategies to ensure consistent and high-quality fabrication results.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of process control strategies with other areas of the business.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor microfabrication process development and optimization.
  • Strong understanding of quantum device fabrication processes and materials science.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
