Project Overview

The University of Doha for Science and Technology is undertaking a research project focused on the development of materials for EM wave absorption. This project involves modeling interacting networks of a global value chain and institutional food policy systems. The successful candidate will work closely with our team to develop analytical and computational models of coupled infrastructure systems, integrate information from empirical cases, and implement stylized models to analyze resilience for various scenarios.

Research Objectives

The primary objective of this project is to prototype computational tools that provide policymakers with an open-source platform for real-world socio-economic systems analysis. To achieve this, the researcher will design experimental strategies, collect and analyze social media content, and apply statistical analysis methods using open-source data. Additionally, the researcher will be responsible for identifying internet-based data collection strategies to overcome gaps in the political, economic, social, and infrastructural dataset.

Deliverables

The successful candidate will be expected to deliver the following outcomes:
  1. a large database on international and interregional production and trade linkages, as well as incomes for workers and capital for 4 developing countries;
  2. experimental design and implementation plans;
  3. data wrangling and analysis strategies;
  4. computational tools for policymakers.
