About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to join our Upstream Development Strategy & Reserves Department (UDS&RD) in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. As a Petroleum Economics Specialist, you will play a key role in managing one of the world's largest portfolios of onshore and offshore oil and gas fields.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice and assistance on operating problems.
  • Specify design criteria and relevant operating parameters for the development of new oil and gas projects.
  • Participate in project technical reviews and assess proposals for new or modified operating procedures.
  • Conduct economic studies and cost analyses to evaluate alternative courses of action.
  • Offer guidance on upstream investment opportunities.
  • Perform impairment assessments on upstream assets.
  • Manage field portfolio and rank projects.
  • Lead the development and updates of guidelines for upstream economics evaluation.
  • Develop lesssenior staff by designing implementing and overseeing professional development programs.
  • Represent the company in external technical conferences, symposiums, and forums.
Requirements
  • This role requires the candidate to permanently relocate to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia.
  • Holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering or related disciplines; advanced degrees in Business, Petroleum Economics, Finance, or related fields are highly beneficial.
  • Possesses 15 years of experience gained through reputable oil and gas consulting and/or E&P companies specializing in PE technical disciplines.
  • Demonstrates strong familiarity with geology/geophysics, petrophysics, drilling operations, completion methods, artificial lift, well testing, flow assurance, production operations, surface facilities design, and cost estimation.
  • Has experience working in a large organization with a varied portfolio of reservoirs or a broad range of experience in smaller companies.
  • Expertise in oil and gas reservoir development and depletion plans.
  • Proficient in investment decision analysis (including risk and uncertainty), strategic longterm production plans, and portfolio analysis.
  • Extensive experience in presenting to executive management and large audiences.
