Job Description:

Parsons CORPORATION is seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Qatar. As a key member of our estimating team, you will be responsible for preparing detailed estimates of probable cost for capital assets and projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare material takeoffs from engineering drawings, plans, and specifications.
  • Review takeoffs prepared by others to ensure completeness, accuracy, and appropriateness.
  • Develop detailed breakdown structures (WBS) for contracts, projects, or program elements.
  • Prepare and summarize the bases of estimate (BOE) development, including estimate scope, pricing, labor, material, and equipment rates.
  • Deliver comprehensive estimates of probable cost based on contract documents and terms.
  • Define and detail the cost of contract general conditions and job cost.
  • Utilize parametric historical estimate data to develop reasonable estimates of probable cost.
  • Develop scope sheets and request for bid or quotation from potential service providers.
  • Assist in historical data and estimate database management.
  • Review contract documents to assess contract risk and significant exposure to estimated cost.
  • Assign reasonable maximum cost and schedule exposure resulting from potential risks.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of postgraduate experience and 5 years of similar work experience on large infrastructure projects.
  • Previous experience using estimating database supported software.
  • Ability to perform standard estimating activities typical to the engineering and construction industry.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Familiarity with company and project procedures and practices.
  • Clear understanding of construction contract commercial documents, drawings, and specifications.
