Role Description:
As an Assistant Roaster, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality coffee roasting and production at our facility in Doha, Qatar. Your responsibilities will include assisting with roasting, cupping, and inventory management tasks.

Key Tasks:
  • Assist with roasting, cupping, and inventory management tasks.
  • Operate a coffee roasting machine, including removing moisture from coffee beans, weighing batches of coffee beans, and feeding them into the roasting machine.
  • Develop separate Filter and Espresso Roast Profile for each coffee beans.
  • Maintain proper temperature by observing the roaster thermometer and adjusting controls properly.
  • Record roasting amounts, types, and blends of roasted coffee beans.
  • Work with different roasting programs and machines (Cropster, Besca, Ikawa, Roest).
  • Perform daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance and cleaning of production equipment.
  • Maintain quality control throughout the process.
  • Track and maintain inventory levels for both green and roasted coffee.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Team in roasting experiments, improving inventory accuracy and forecasting, along with consistency in roasting profiles.
  • Assess coffee quality objectively.
  • Communicate coffee characteristics using accepted industry terminology.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in coffee roasting operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
