About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Commis Chef to join our culinary team at Crowne Plaza Hotels & Resorts. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for supporting the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie in the daily operation of the bakery and ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of food items in the bakery, adhering to menu specifications and quality standards.
  • Maintain a clean and hygienic work environment, adhering to health and safety regulations and HACCP guidelines.
  • Control food stock and costs, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Prepare mise-en-place and food production in different sections of the kitchen, following instructions and recommendations from superiors.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation of food items, staying up-to-date with new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
  • Coordinate with other sections to ensure seamless service delivery, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and cost control.
  • Prepare and display buffet food items according to hotel standards, ensuring timely and efficient service.
  • Perform tasks promptly, maintaining a high level of productivity and efficiency.
  • Report maintenance, hygiene, and hazard issues to superiors, ensuring a safe working environment.

Requirements:

  • 2-3 years of experience as a Commis Chef or Apprentice Chef in a bakery, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality food products.
  • Proficient in local health and safety regulations, including HACCP guidelines.
  • Positive attitude, good communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to follow instructions, multitask, and work in a fast-paced environment with rigorous standards.
  • A passion for learning and a drive to succeed in a culinary career, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
