Job Overview
The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly experienced and skilled Senior ITS Engineer with a strong background in traffic signal design, implementation, and maintenance. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the high availability and performance service levels for traffic signals are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and support the Road Management Systems (RMC) necessary to ensure traffic signals are functioning correctly.
- Ensure the high availability targets of traffic signal assets and systems across the network are being met.
- Manage and coordinate traffic signal maintenance contracts and future ITS contracts, resources, and third-party support.
- Verify that traffic signal maintenance contractor invoices are accurate and backed up by documented reports.
- Monitor and manage the traffic signal maintenance contractors' performance measures, such as response times.
- Carry out feasibility studies to assess the viability of different traffic signal maintenance options and provide recommendations based on cost-benefit analysis.
- Perform cost estimation of various traffic signal maintenance works.
- Respond to reactive traffic signal maintenance needs at short notice, including emergency works to safeguard public safety and protect the integrity of the traffic signals.
- Review traffic signal design and installations to ensure compliance with latest specifications and standards.
- Work under minimum supervision, check the work of others, and supervise less experienced staff.
About You
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or relevant subject is required.
- Chartered Membership in Engineering or relevant professional body is an advantage.
- Current/valid Qatar Driving License is an advantage.
- Minimum 15 years' cumulative experience in a relevant field.
- Minimum 8 years' experience in Traffic Signal design, implementation, and maintenance.
- Strong knowledge of asset hierarchy, asset types, and related attributes.
- Ability to establish strong working relationships with stakeholders.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Packages and SCATS Technology.
