Pool Technician Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Pool Technician to join our team at The Ritz-Carlton Qatar. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our pool facilities, providing exceptional service to our guests, and maintaining a high level of quality in all aspects of your work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Respond to and attend to guest repair requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Communicate effectively with guests and colleagues to resolve maintenance issues and provide excellent customer service.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  • Conduct visual inspections of tools, equipment, and machines to identify potential issues and take corrective action.
  • Carry out tasks such as carrying equipment, operating shut-off valves, and maintaining inventory, as required.
  • Communicate daily activities and any issues that arise to other shifts using approved communication programs and standards.
  • Display knowledge and skills in areas such as air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry, as well as basic computer skills.
  • Test, troubleshoot, and perform basic repairs on equipment, plumbing, and electrical components, as needed.
  • Program TVs and perform general housekeeping and engineering-related inventory duties.
  • Use the Lockout/Tagout system before performing any maintenance work.
  • Perform repairs on interior and exterior landscaping, as well as external landscaping sprinklers.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, and carpentry.
  • Ability to acquire knowledge in areas such as pneumatic/electronic systems and controls, kitchen equipment, vehicles, energy conservation, and general building.
  • Basic computer skills, including inputting air handler schedules and making temperature changes.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
