As a Marble Polisher, you will be instrumental in maintaining the flawless condition of our hotel's marble surfaces, ensuring they meet the high standards our guests anticipate. As part of our talented Housekeeping team, you will be responsible for polishing and maintaining marble floors, walls, and other surfaces throughout the hotel, ensuring they are always in top condition. You will be expected to carry out regular inspections, identify any issues, and apply appropriate treatments, including cleaning, polishing, and restoration. Your expertise will help preserve the hotel's elegant appearance, enhancing the overall guest experience.

Polishing and Restoring Marble Surfaces
Marble Polishing: Use specialized tools and techniques to polish marble surfaces and restore their shine, ensuring they maintain their aesthetic appeal and smoothness. This may involve the use of buffing machines, diamond pads, or other equipment.
Surface Repair: Assess marble for any scratches, stains, or imperfections, and take appropriate steps to fix or minimize damage. This may involve filling in cracks, sanding down rough spots, or using fillers to restore the surface's integrity.
Stain Removal: Identify and remove stains or discoloration from marble surfaces using appropriate cleaners and polishing compounds. This might include removing oil stains, water rings, or etching marks caused by acidic substances.

Cleaning and Maintenance

  • Surface Cleaning: Clean marble surfaces to remove dust, dirt, and other debris before polishing. This can be done using specific stone-friendly cleaning agents that won't damage the marble or dull the surface.
  • Sealing Marble: After polishing, a marble polisher may apply a protective sealant to the surface to help prevent stains, dirt buildup, and wear. This is an important step in maintaining the longevity and appearance of the marble.
  • Routine Maintenance: Provide regular upkeep and care of marble surfaces to ensure they stay clean, shiny, and damage-free over time. This may involve performing routine polishing or reapplication of sealants.

Equipment Handling and Setup

  • Use of Polishing Machines: Operate and maintain various polishing and cleaning machines, including floor buffers, grinders, diamond abrasives, and polishing pads. The use of the right tools is crucial to achieving the best results.
  • Tool and Product Selection: Select the right polishing compounds, abrasives, and tools based on the condition of the marble and the desired finish. This might involve choosing the appropriate grit level for sanding or selecting the best wax for polishing.

Inspection and Assessment

  • Assessing Marble Condition: Inspect marble surfaces for signs of wear and damage, such as cracks, chips, or deep stains. The marble polisher needs to determine the best course of action to restore or repair the surface.
  • Client Consultation: Communicate with clients or employers to understand the desired results, as well as to recommend maintenance schedules or repair techniques.
