Roles and responsibilities

1. Assisting with Physical Tasks

  • Supporting Skilled Workers: Assist skilled workers (e.g., carpenters, electricians, chefs, etc.) by providing the necessary tools, materials, and equipment needed to perform their tasks.
  • Carrying and Transporting Materials: Help move materials, tools, and equipment to the appropriate locations, ensuring that team members have what they need to work efficiently.
  • Cleaning and Organizing Workspaces: Keep work areas clean, safe, and organized by removing debris, tidying up tools, and maintaining an orderly environment.
  • General Labor: Perform various manual tasks, such as digging, lifting, loading, unloading, or setting up equipment, depending on the industry.

2. Preparation and Setup

  • Preparing Materials: Help prepare materials by cutting, measuring, or assembling parts as instructed by skilled workers.
  • Tool Setup: Set up and organize tools and equipment needed for the job or task, ensuring they are ready for use.
  • Assisting with Inventory: Support inventory management by organizing materials or stock, making sure items are easy to locate, and checking for shortages.

3. Assisting with Maintenance and Repairs

  • Routine Maintenance: Assist in the upkeep of equipment, tools, or machinery by performing basic maintenance tasks such as cleaning, lubricating, or inspecting tools and equipment.
  • Minor Repairs: Help with basic repairs or maintenance tasks as directed by a supervisor or more experienced workers.

  • Following Safety Procedures: Ensure safety protocols are followed in all tasks. This may include wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), following safety guidelines, and reporting hazards or safety concerns.
  • Maintaining Safe Work Environment: Help create and maintain a safe working environment by keeping tools and materials organized and ensuring that work areas are free from potential hazards.
