Roles and responsibilities

We are now seeking a passionate Early Years Teacher who has a strong working knowledge of the current Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. You should have experience in planning and implementing a wide range of exciting, imaginative and stimulating activities and be able to model exemplary early years' practice.
Supporting Children's Development:
Observation and Assessment: Observe children's learning and development regularly, noting milestones and progress in key areas such as communication, behavior, social interaction, and academic skills. Use these observations to inform future lesson planning.
Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of children's progress, achievements, and areas needing further development. This can include anecdotal notes, work samples, and formal assessments.
Developmental Monitoring: Track each child's individual progress against the EYFS goals and learning outcomes, providing reports and updates to parents or caregivers. Adjust teaching strategies accordingly to ensure children meet their full potential.
Supporting Special Educational Needs: Provide additional support and interventions for children who have additional learning needs, ensuring they can participate fully in activities.

Creating a Safe and Stimulating Environment: Ensure the classroom or learning space is safe, clean, and engaging for young children. This includes organizing the space with accessible resources, learning stations, and age-appropriate materials.
Encouraging Exploration and Curiosity: Create a welcoming environment that encourages children to ask questions, explore new ideas, and engage in imaginative play.
Promoting Positive Behavior: Establish clear rules and routines for behavior and foster an atmosphere of respect, kindness, and cooperation. Help children develop self-regulation, emotional intelligence, and social skills.
Supporting Social and Emotional Development:
Building Relationships: Develop strong, trusting relationships with children, ensuring they feel safe, valued, and supported in their learning journey. Focus on nurturing emotional growth and resilience.
Supporting Independence: Encourage children to take initiative, make choices, and become more independent in their learning. Teach them essential life skills, such as sharing, following directions, and expressing their feelings appropriately.
Conflict Resolution: Help children navigate social challenges, such as conflicts with peers, by teaching problem-solving and conflict-resolution strategies.
Parental Involvement and Communication:
Parent-Teacher Communication: Foster strong partnerships with parents or caregivers by maintaining open lines of communication regarding children's progress, behavior, and any concerns. Organize parent meetings and provide regular updates through informal chats, written reports, or parent-teacher conferences.
Encouraging Parent Engagement: Encourage parents to be actively involved in their child's learning by participating in school activities, attending events, and reinforcing learning at home.
Providing Guidance: Offer advice to parents on how to support their child's development at home, including reading together, practicing basic math concepts, and supporting emotional growth.
