Senior Barista

The Senior Barista will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and serving of high-quality coffee and beverages to customers in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. In addition to making drinks, the Senior Barista takes a leadership role in the café, mentoring and training junior baristas, managing the day-to-day operations of the coffee bar, and ensuring an exceptional customer experience. The Senior Barista will have expert knowledge of coffee brewing techniques, espresso machines, and the café’s menu offerings.
**Key Responsibilities**:
- **Coffee and Beverage Preparation**: Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, espresso-based drinks, teas, and other beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
- **Leadership & Training**: Lead by example in providing excellent customer service, guiding, and mentoring junior baristas. Train new staff on coffee preparation, customer service, and café protocols.
- **Customer Service**: Provide exceptional customer service, including greeting customers, taking orders, and making recommendations based on customer preferences.
- **Quality Control**: Ensure consistency and quality of all beverages and food items. Perform regular checks on coffee beans, milk, and other supplies to ensure freshness and quality.
- **Inventory Management**: Monitor stock levels of coffee beans, milk, syrups, and other ingredients. Communicate inventory needs to the manager and help with ordering supplies.
- **Cleaning & Maintenance**: Ensure the coffee bar area is clean and organized at all times. Maintain espresso machines, grinders, and other equipment, performing basic maintenance tasks as needed.
- **Cash Handling & Register Operations**: Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system, process transactions, and handle cash accurately. Ensure cash register is balanced at the end of the shift.
- **Team Collaboration**: Work closely with café team members to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy periods.
- **Health & Safety Compliance**: Adhere to all food safety regulations and company policies, including hygiene standards and cleanliness protocols.
- **Specialty Drinks & Seasonal Promotions**: Assist in creating and promoting new drinks, seasonal specials, and coffee-related menu items.
- **Problem-Solving**: Address customer complaints or concerns in a calm and professional manner, ensuring a positive resolution.
**Uniform Requirements**:
- Wear the provided uniform (apron, name tag, and non-slip shoes).
- Maintain personal cleanliness and hygiene while on the job.
**Qualifications**:
- Previous barista experience (4-5 years), with a strong understanding of coffee brewing techniques and espresso-based drinks.
- Excellent customer service skills, with a friendly, approachable demeanor.
- Knowledge of coffee beans, roasts, and other specialty beverages.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality service.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: QAR3,000.00 - QAR4,500.00 per month
