**The Chief Engineer is responsible for safe and efficient operation of all the machinery and associated systems aboard the boat. That includes supervision of all engineering, deck, fire-fighting and emergency equipment. In addition to conducting all predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance and repairs on-board vessels.**

**Responsibilities**:

- **Execute the safety and environmental policy on board.**
- **Comply with international legislation, flag state requirements, accepted industry standards, Company decrees and contracts.**
- **Head of department for the engineering equipment.**
- **Responsible for the safety, administration, maintenance and repairs of all; permanently installed equipment on board the vessel, together with the safe and efficient use of the manpower available.**
- **Contributes to the objective that the ship is always available to be deployed in a safe and efficient manner.**
- **Execute the safety
- and environmental policy on board.**
- **Responsible for all technical activities.**
- **Responsible for Survey Planning with inspection and verification of items, to maintain the vessel's class.**
- **Manage the vessel's technical administration and (SOPEP) manuals.**
- **Manage the Planned Maintenance System.**
- **Management of the technical stores, goods and tools and the correct storage or processing of incoming supplies.**
- **Ensure that the Charterer’s / Client’s equipment is connected properly and safely to the vessel's mains.**
- **Ensure that all members of the engine department strictly observe and are thoroughly conversant with the oil in Navigable Waters Regulations, conform explanation in DTP notices and that proper records are kept.**
- **Keeping a system in place where unauthorized persons can/will not enter the engine room, workshops and other parts of the technical department on the vessel without being escorted by an authorized engineer.**

Job Requirements
- Fluent in English
- Have 5 years experience as an engineer aboard vessels.
- Understanding of electronics and hydraulics.
- Experience on Fugro Vessels is a plus..
- Knowledge of the relevant and applicable codes, guidelines and standards.
- Good knowledge of the systems, equipment and procedures they're responsible for.
