About this role

This is an exciting opportunity in the Group Safety & Security division of Qatar Airways Group to provide strategic leadership to short, mid and long term projects related to Qatar Airways’ Compliance Monitoring System (CMS) and GS&S Divisional Risk Registers and systems. This role ensures compliance with corporate and industry regulatory standards and practices. Drive business excellence and continuity for time-critical functions within GS&S to achieve world leading emergency responses.

Strategic Accountabilities
- Develop a departmental strategic vision and a Business Continuity Plan for time-critical functions across GS&S in collaboration with other key stakeholders to effectively manage emergency response plans, with mínimal impact and disruption to the business.
- Interpret new industry standards and develop new policies, processes and procedures in partnership with relevant stakeholders to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Drive strategy around development, monitoring and adaptation around the Compliance Monitoring framework and Management System across the QR network in collaboration with operational disciplines in order to achieve continued compliance to regulations and conform to company requirements and industry standards.
- Implement a system-wide management plan for the Centralised Documentation Management System across the Qatar Airways Group over a 10-year time horizon to ensure Organisation wide documentation consistency including legibility, maintenance, retrieval, protection, integrity and security.
- Plan and facilitate the biennial Qatar Airways IOSA certification renewal through continued collaboration and engagement with both internal and external stakeholders to achieve a favourable audit outcome.
- Collaborate with Corporate Planning and Strategic Alliances to evaluate and approve the compliance, safety and security feasibility of codeshare/ wet lease/ capacity-share agreements.
- Liaise with the SVP GS&S to establish the Division’s PMO and Automation department within GS&S to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

Operational Accountabilities
- Oversee, approve and manage the annual audit schedules for Flight and Ground Operations appropriate to the scale of QR operations and, where necessary, the range of sub-contractors whose work impacts the safety of QR, and ensure completion of audits within each audit cycle.
- Drive continuous improvement to the GS&S Risk Registers in liaison with the Safety and Security stakeholders, and manage the controls and treatment actions to ensure the residual risks are as low as reasonably possible.
- Lead IT developments projects within GS&S through liaison with each department for the various IT systems used within the division.

- Integrate the ISAGO programme to the Compliance Monitoring programme in collaboration with Ground Services and Cargo Operations to supplement the oversight of Qatar Airways’ sub-contractors across the stations.
- Ensure that audit records adhere to regulatory requirements and non-conformities are adequately addressed. Review and approve data in collaboration with the departmental management team as means of continuous feedback of the adequacy of the compliance monitoring system to the Accountable Manager through the SVPGS&S monthly report.

Stakeholder Accountabilities
- Liaise with the QCAA on regulations pertaining to Compliance Monitoring, SAFA, IOSA and ISAGO SARPs and review/accept their annual inspection programme.
- Establish and maintain essential working relationships with divisional departments: Flight Operations, Flight Training, Engineering and Technical Training, Ground Operations, Cargo, Cabin Services and the Integrated Training Centre.
- Establish the Divisional Risk Framework in collaboration with the ERM department and Risk Champions across the business.
- Oversee the conduct of pre-ISAGO audits for QAS to prepare them for their ISAGO every two years.
