**The Role: Athletic Training Instructor**
**Lift Club is a weightlifting, strength focused group exercise class, primarily using barbells.**
**GRID is a functional fitness class, using dumbbells, kettlebells along with Ski-Ergs and Rogue Echo Bikes (Air bikes) to create dynamic and varied workouts.**
**1. Deliver Powerful, Results-Driven Group Training Sessions**
As a Strength & Conditioning Instructor at Virgin Active, you’ll lead high-performance group workouts designed to build functional strength, improve athleticism, and enhance overall movement quality. Whether it’s kettlebells, circuit training, or metabolic finishers—your sessions will be expertly crafted to challenge members physically while supporting their mental and emotional resilience. Every class you deliver should reflect our core wellness values: movement, mindset, and community.
**2. Build a Strong, Supportive Training Environment**
You’ll create more than just a workout—you’ll foster a culture of discipline, encouragement, and progress. By building authentic relationships and leading with energy and expertise, you’ll empower members to push their limits, celebrate their wins, and stay committed to their long-term health and fitness journey.
**3. Encourage Full-Spectrum Wellness and Club Engagement**
Functional fitness is just one piece of the puzzle. You’ll actively guide members toward Virgin Active’s broader wellness ecosystem—recommending recovery services, personal training, nutrition guidance, and mobility tools that complement their training and accelerate results.
**Key Responsibilities**
**1. Program and Deliver High-Impact, Functional Training Sessions**
Design and coach safe, effective, and scalable group workouts grounded in strength, mobility, and conditioning principles. Whether you’re leading a barbell complex or a functional HIIT session, your goal is to help members move well, lift well, and feel confident in their progress—regardless of starting level.
**2. Drive Member Engagement and Retention**
Build rapport with members and support their long-term success. Learn their names, understand their goals, and create an environment where accountability and community thrive. Encourage consistent class attendance and deeper club engagement through complementary services.
**3. Ensure Movement Quality, Safety, and Injury Prevention**
Prioritize movement integrity and proper technique across all exercises. Offer modifications and progressions, and coach hands-on when needed to support form and function. Your focus is on helping members train smart, reduce injury risk, and build strength that lasts.
**4. Support Holistic Fitness and Recovery Integration**
Introduce members to the full spectrum of Virgin Active’s wellness offerings. From mobility and flexibility programs to sports massage and recovery lounges, help them understand how training, recovery, and lifestyle support each other.
**5. Maintain a High-Performance Training Space**
Ensure all functional equipment and training areas are prepped, clean, and safe. From kettlebells to sleds, dumbbells to rigs—everything should be ready to go before class. Collaborate with the operations team to ensure every session takes place in a professional, motivating space.
**6. Stay Ahead of the Curve in Your Practice**
Continuously upskill through education and industry trends in strength & conditioning, athletic performance, and movement science. Seek feedback, refine your coaching, and lead sessions that reflect the latest in functional training excellence.
**Key Performance Indicators**
**1. Class Attendance and Member Commitment**
Maintain high engagement and repeat attendance across your schedule. Aim for members to train with you at least twice a week and encourage them to complement group classes with personal training, recovery, and nutritional support.
**2. Member Feedback and Experience**
Deliver an exceptional training experience that earns consistent, positive feedback. From programming to atmosphere, your sessions should leave members feeling stronger, more capable, and motivated to return.
**3. Consistency, Quality, and Brand Alignment**
Ensure every class meets Virgin Active’s high standards—from programming format and technical coaching to energy, professionalism, and inclusivity. Work closely with the Product Manager to maintain consistency and innovation across the program.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: QAR5,000.00 - QAR23,000.00 per month
