By leaving behind traditional methods of tackling the net-zero challenge and embracing the powerful capabilities of software and digital technology, we transform the complexity of grids into a competitive advantage. **Role Overview** As a Grid Software Solution Engineer, you will be a key contributor to the deployment, integration, and continuous enhancement of Siemens' Gridscale X software suite, with a strong focus on Meter Data Management (MDM) solutions across the Middle East and Africa. You’ll lead and support the **end-to-end software lifecycle**—from initial deployment and configuration through optimization and ongoing service—ensuring high-performance, secure, and sustainable energy solutions. Your technical acumen and customer-first mindset will help utilities navigate digital transformation and grid modernization efforts. **Key Responsibilities** - Act as a core member of cross-functional teams alongside Project Managers, Solution Architects, and Engineers to deploy and improve Siemens' grid software. - Provide accurate effort estimations and regular project status updates to support planning and tracking. - Deploy, configure, test, and optimize **Gridscale X Meter Data Management** (former EnergyIP) and other advanced metering software for new and existing customers. - Analyze system performance and implement improvements aligned with evolving customer needs. - Design data flows, workflows, and integrations with customer systems. - Develop and deliver tailored end-user training, workshops, and test cycles. - Provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and ensure smooth system operations post-deployment. - Create and execute acceptance test plans, track software/process issues, and coordinate with development for resolution. - Maintain documentation on operational processes and best practices. **Required Qualifications & Experience** - You hold a bachelor’s in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (master’s preferred). - You bring with you a minimum of 8 years’ experience in enterprise systems integration, IT consulting, or software deployment. - Hands-on experience with Siemens' Gridscale X Meter Data Management “ MDM” system is highly advantageous. - You will impress us with your strong knowledge in the Unix/Linux command-line and system administration (AIX, RedHat, SUSE). - Proficiency in Oracle 19c+, SQL, and enterprise software installations (Oracle, Tomcat, Tibco, Siebel). - Familiarity with virtualization (VMware) and cloud-based environments. - A background in utilities, Smart Grid, or "Meter-to-Cash" processes is advantageous.
