Senior Interior Designer

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Senior Interior Designer with a minimum of ten years of experience to work on high-end Interior Design projects mainly in the Institutional and Residential sectors

The applicant shall be fully immersed at all levels of the design process daily in his projects and should take ownership and responsibility of their workload, using their initiative and creative skills to solve problems and meet deadlines.

**Responsibilities**:
Typical work would include:
Design:

- Undertaking complete project through its different phases from design inception to site implementation
- Meet clients and understand design requirements and ideas, analyze constraints and risks associated, propose schedule, deadlines, human resources, and deliverables milestones. Write minutes of meetings and assure all deadlines are met.
- Lead and work among the team hand in hand for the following:

- Site survey and verification of existing conditions and, supervise drawings packages and assure it is produced proficiently as per company standards.
- Create and present initial sketches, space plans, mood boards, preliminary models.
- Pre-select materials and pre-define suitable suppliers
- Coordinate and acquire approvals from the client on each phase.
- Create proficient 3D digital models, CGIs, animations.
- Work with the design team and lead designers and draftsmen during design development and detailing.
- Revise all detailed drawings to assure accuracy and proficiency.
- Coordinate with other disciplines (architectural, Civil, MEP) and other stakeholders during the design and the supervision stage.
- To predict and analyze the impact of other disciplines in the design
- Supervise and lead all tender stages process and tender documentation preparation stage
- Understanding the financial aspects of running a design project on time and within budget.
- Propose value engineering material alternatives to control the budget without compromising the design.
- Assure deadlines of the project’s tasks are met.
- Continuously evaluate subordinate team members to assure company quality work standards.

Supervision:

- Lead and supervise site during construction and design implementation stage
- Perform day to day supervision tasks and acquire inspection reports from subordinate inspectors
- Assure Quality control and Quality assurance of FF&E and all related Interior Design scope
- Contribute to the progress and technical review meetings (record and issue minutes of meetings; if required)
- Implement procedures for inspection approvals, testing, commissioning following the requirements of the contract and ensure the implementation of those procedures by the inspection team
- Review submitted shop drawings against contract drawings and specifications, local codes and statutory requirements, and international best practices.
- Review and comment on the Contractor's programs ensuring that they are sufficiently detailed to demonstrate compliance with the requirements of the contract
- Estimate the Contractors progress during construction and regularly raise deficiencies and issues hindering the progress of works
- Maintain records for activities on site including progress photos and ensure they are readily available for inspection as and when required.
- Review and comments changes and variations to scope, specification, and schedule as raised by Contractor
- Maintain effective coordination between disciplines related to works and all other disciplines.
- Prepare surveillance report(s) for deficiencies of work found at site and nonconformance reports (NCR) if required given the development of events.
- Follow-up to ensure the Contractor liaises with service and other authorities promptly so as not to affect the progress of the works by attending meetings, monitoring agreed on programs and regular follow-up
- Review and comment submission related to interim and final payments
- Review and comment submitted Contractor’s mark-up and as-built drawings
- Contribute in technical input and experiences to resolve any discipline related issues that may arise on site
- Contribute to preparing substantial completion reports including any outstanding requirements.

**Qualification**

**Essential**
- Bachelor degree in Architecture / Interior Design / Interior Architecture
- Minimum 10 years of experience in the field
- Experience in fit-out and projects execution
- Able to use the following:

- Revit
- AutoCAD
- Sketchup
- Photoshop
- Microsoft PowerPoint-Word-Excel
- Other 3D and rendering-oriented software,
- Comprehensive understanding of construction technology
- High level of joinery, detailing, furniture & construction is imperative
- Awareness of current style trends/industry
- 3D spatial awareness
- Strong free-hand sket
