**Associate - Markets Treasury (Qatari Nationals Only)**

- Managing cash, liquidity and funding for legal entities together with the bank’s overall high quality liquid assets (HQLA), and short-term funding requirements.
- Managing the non-trading interest rate positions (banking book) transferred from ALCM to the function.
- Generating stable revenues by optimizing return on interest rates and HQLA;
- Governance and contribution of major Benchmark Rates for the Group (IBOR’s).

**In this role, you will**:

- **Cash Management,** ensure surplus cash is deployed and deficits are financed at the best terms for the bank.
- **Funding and Management**: Execution of short
- and medium-term funding plans on behalf of the bank / entity.
- **Liquidity Management**: Ensure that the bank / entity will always be able to meet its current and potential cashflow obligations, at a reasonable price and without incurring significant commercial and reputational risk.
- Assist in the management of the entity’s Liquid Asset Buffer (LAB, within the risk appetite defined via the LAB Committee) and to help with ensuring that this continues to be available for monetisation purposes even during a stress scenario.
- **Interest Rate Risk Management**. Actively manage interest rate risk positions on MKTY books under ALM approved transfer pricing principles.
- Management of the market risks resulting from the term interest rate buy-in and the LAB with a view of optimizing revenues but not at the expense of liquidity.
- Work in close partnership with senior management to help in setting the strategy and engaging with the wider stakeholder community to translate this into effective execution and implementation plans.
- Help in managing regulatory, liquidity, interest rate and funding risk whilst operating within a strict control environment / limit framework and in doing so, optimizing profitability.
- Ensure Markets Treasury senior management / ExCo are kept informed of all key financial / non-financial issues / developments impacting the business / entity / region by way of acting as a key point of escalation / contact and if required, play a critical part in any subsequent remediation efforts.
Requirements

**To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements**:

- Degree level education with knowledge and experience of Markets.
- Good product knowledge with reference to Fixed Income, IR Derivatives, Cross Currency Swaps, FX Swaps.
- Good understanding of treasury operations and banking issues - capital. Liquidity, funding, structural interest rate risk, transfer pricing
- Excellent communication skills to deal with an extreme diverse set of stakeholders across complex issues and narratives.
- Delivers high performance in respect of implementation of change, articulation of business impact and engagement of stakeholders, within a complex matrix structure.
- Strong team player with refined interpersonal skills - flexible in working and interpersonal style; connect with others across reporting lines, across functions, across markets.
- Strong analytical and project management skills - able to help drive and implement change.
- Excellent team player with proactive and self-motivated attitude and ability to think and act independently.
