The Horticulture Engineer will oversees planning, design, installation, and maintenance of gardens and landscapes, ensuring sustainable practices and optimal project execution. Proficient in plant biology, soil science, irrigation systems, AutoCAD, and communication is essential.
**Responsibilities**:
Garden Maintenance:
Supervise multiple projects, ensuring quality, timely execution, and routine inspections to maintain plant health.
Design & Installation:
Create garden and irrigation designs, prepare BOQs, and oversee project implementation.
Irrigation System Management:
Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot irrigation systems while implementing preventive measures.
Indoor/Vertical Gardens:
Design, execute, and maintain indoor and vertical gardens with proper environmental controls.
Project Management:
Handle multiple projects, optimize resources, manage timelines, and prepare client quotations.
Plant Knowledge & Care:
Ensure proper plant selection, care, and pest management, monitoring plant health and soil conditions.
Chemical & Material Management:
Fertilizer & Soil Management:
Conduct soil tests, develop fertilization plans, and promote sustainable practices.
Client Interaction:
Communicate maintenance plans, provide reports, and address feedback effectively.
Technical Skills:
Utilize AutoCAD and management software for design and project tracking.
Communication:
Exhibit strong English skills for reports, presentations, and team coordination.
Training & Development:
Train staff in best practices, safety, and new technologies.
Problem Solving:
Address operational challenges and make informed decisions for optimal outcomes.
Compliance:
Ensure adherence to regulations and promote environmentally responsible practices.
Labor & Resource Management:
Supervise teams, allocate resources, and enforce safety protocols.
Scheduling & Reporting:
Develop work plans, manage schedules, and submit monthly reports on progress.
Vehicle Management:
Oversee fleet maintenance and ensure compliance with safety standards.
Strategic Input:
Contribute to policy development, reporting to management, and aligning with long-term goals.
This role demands a balance of technical expertise, leadership, and communication skills to ensure the successful execution of horticultural projects.
**Education**:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Al-Wakrah: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (preferred)
